Picture Train

Delivered into the classroom by teachers or teaching assistants, our lesson plans and other resources teach much more than simply how to take better photographs!

Photography is creative and fun and when shared, it breaks down all sorts of barriers.

Our resources deliver more than simply taking better photographs! We believe by learning how to take great photographs, children can use their new skills to enhance all aspects of the school curriculum and their whole lives. That is why we have created practical photography projects that encourage children to thoughtfully observe and focus on the world around them. Working practically and creatively at core curriculum subjects, we are using photography as the vehicle for learning.

Our learning modules, developed with teachers, parents and children, open up a new and exciting visual world for young people aged 3 – 11.

Our resources are designed to be fun and highly practical and provide a range of photography led projects and lesson plans for teachers and worksheets for learners. Enjoy the learning journey with Snapper, our intrepid photographer who is on hand to help everyone to learn new skills and use them to great effect.

Picture Train evolved from our long-standing experience of delivering practical and interactive photography workshops in schools. Join the growing community of teachers, parents and children who come to learn about photography and how it can be translated into the curriculum in fun and exciting ways.

By subscribing to Picture Train, teachers, pupils and parents have 24/7 access to learning opportunities including photography projects, downloadable worksheets, competitions and connection to a growing community of budding photographers in schools across the UK.

      Actualise Learning

      Introduction to Actualise Learning

Our feeling is that education is too general and very little caters to individual children. Resources are limited and teachers are under constant pressure. As we all know, children are all so very different and very often that gets side-lined as they follow the curriculum, which is mostly a ‘one size fits all’ approach. There are many aspects that children need which are not covered in day to day school life.

In finding out about the individual child and tailoring their learning needs, our approach depends on pupil’s individual skills, likes, desires and life challenges.

Our objective is to provide a system to learners to potentialise their learning.

Many children benefit from an individual approach which is absolutely vital to their mental wellbeing. Parents and children can therefore plan around an individualised scheme of work, to be able to reinforce what teachers are providing in school life. It’s a value add for improving, strengthening and adding to the educational process for teachers and to maximize the potential of learning.

Supported by research within cognition and memory, our resources and services enhance the learning process within existing skills of pupils, aged from 7 – 18 years old.

The ultimate aim of our products sees pupils across all levels of education being guided through an individualised curriculum based on their levels of success, work that still needs to be covered and on their interests. This places greater emphasis on individualised learning, recognising that every pupil is different with a potential for a flipped classroom, the teacher acting as a facilitator, so that every child in a class is working on something different, be it a single subject or a cross curricular project.

Our resources follow the guidelines of:

      • Intellectual and emotional growth
      • Strong home / school communication
      • Developing other life skills beyond curriculum knowledge
      • Understanding different study methodologies
      • Not being an extension of the school framework
      • Strengthening; soft skills, self-awareness, stress management

      NeuroHeadway Education

Working with leading neuroscience experts, our objective is to provide a whole school approach for ensuring that mental health and wellbeing becomes central to the way schools work and enable pupils to become emotionally resilient and mentally healthy, in order to reach their full potential.

Emotional health and wellbeing is a very varied and complex area and there are no quick fix solutions. Maintaining every day, regular routines wherever possible, such as, attending school and lessons, whilst working towards managing mental health is key.

Teachers can now bring neuroscience into their classroom with a range of clear, accessible, and engaging teaching modules based on the latest evidence based research – all packaged into “ready to deliver” modules that complement the curriculum and are perfect for delivery in PSHE and/or Science lesson time.

Students, whatever their age, learn how to draw on Neuroscience when reflecting on their own experience and behaviour and find out about developing the skills necessary for continuous personal enquiry and practice.

      What do we offer?

Our aim is to be the “go to” resource for teachers and care givers of young people on mental health and wellbeing and life skills development learning.
